Artefactus Cultural Project Exhibition with sponsorship from the National Endowment for the Arts
As part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, Artefactus Cultural Project presents the exhibition Freedom 250, a show that brings together eight artists whose works engage with key moments in American history and their multiple contemporary interpretations.
Through diverse visual languages, the exhibition addresses themes such as nation-building, the immigrant experience, and the values associated with freedom, where the colors of the American flag acquire a metaphorical meaning within the works. Participating artists include Janette Allegue, Carlos Artime, Sergio Chávez, Silvi Lott, Raúl Proenza, and Carmen Verdura, whose trajectories connect different geographies and cultural experiences.
As part of the exhibition, works by María Sonia Martín and Antonio Pérez Melero, guest artists, are also included, complementing the collection with pieces previously exhibited in other contexts, thus broadening the exhibition’s conceptual scope.
