Yara Rey began her artistic career as a singer at the age of four, exploring disciplines such as theater, dance and music. She has participated in renowned productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and The Lion King, receiving awards for her outstanding performance. She trained at the National School of Art in Cuba and at the School of Art Instructors, specializing in choral singing and vocal technique, completing her studies at the Benny Moré Institute. With an extensive vocal range, she has shared the stage with artists such as Albita Rodríguez, Amaury Gutiérrez, Martha Sánchez, Franco de Vita and Jon Secada; in addition, she has performed songs for soap operas, participated in musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar and worked as a television host. Committed to social causes, she is the founder of the Luz Regalando Sonrisas Foundation and directs Yara Rey’s Academy, where she produces charity shows and prepares talents for programs such as The Voice and American Idol. Her career has earned her the proclamation of January 20 as Yara Rey Day in Miami. He recently released the single La culpa es mía, featured on the iconic Billboard in Times Square in New York.
