To commemorate the eightieth anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Literature to Chilean writer Gabriela Mistral, a talk on the life and work of the author of Desolación (1922), Ternura (1923), Tala (1938), and Lagar (1954), fundamental books in Latin American literature, will be held on Friday, October 3, at 8:30 p.m. The talk will be given by Venezuelan writer and cultural promoter Omira Bellizzio. The presentation will include a reading of a selection of Mistral’s poems by Cuban actress Betsy Rodríguez.
