On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 8:30 p.m., Artefactus Cultural Project and the Cuatrogatos Foundation present the event “770 Years Of The Magazine Ciclón,” with the support of Florida Humanities, to commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the appearance of this important Cuban literary publication, whose first issue was published in Havana in 1955.
The talk will be given by Dainerys Machado Vento, PhD in Literary, Linguistic and Cultural Studies from the University of Miami, with a master’s degree in Hispanic American Literature from El Colegio de San Luis, in Mexico, who has researched in depth the history and impact of Ciclón. Machado Vento is the author of the book “El estruendo de Ciclón.” The new Cuban magazine, published in Weston, Florida, by Katakana Editores, and also works of fiction narrative such as “Retratos de la orilla” and “Las noventa Habanas.”
Dainerys Machado Vento will be accompanied by the writer, journalist and literary researcher Antonio Orlando Rodríguez, winner of the Alfaguara Novel Prize and director of Programs at the Cuatrogatos Foundation.
